Abstract:

The development of information and communication technologies determines spectacular changes in the labour market. Professions and employees educated in these occupations sought for a few or a dozen years ago are now disappearing from the labour market. However, there are more and more professions related to the use and creation of modern solutions in the field of ICT. Low-skilled workers performing repetitive work are replaced by robots. IT applications are in a greater extent automated - which also reduces the scope of employing low-skilled and low educated employees in realization of business processes.

The above market mechanisms contribute to the evolution of labour market needs, where creative, enterprising and communicative employees are becoming more and more important as well as those possessing a high level of group work skills. In response to the educational needs of the market, it is necessary to make transformations in the models and teaching methods used at universities.
The authors of the article stated the hypothesis that appropriate modeling of educational processes that will use modern teaching methods will contribute to the increase of personal competences such as: creativity and entrepreneurship, as well as interpersonal competences such as communicativeness and group work.

The aim of the paper is to show how the creation of appropriate teaching models using modern teaching methods in educational processes of universities affects the increase of key students' competences.
To prove the aim and verify the hypothesis, a research procedure was carried out, which consisted of three main stages. In the first stage the literature research was carried out and there were presented definitions of key concepts that formed the basis for the conducted research as well as for the creation and verification of modern teaching models. All project partners, eg researchers from the universities: Poznan University of Technology, Centria University of Applied Sciences, Czestochowa University of Technology, Wroclaw University of Economics, Matej Bel University Banska Bystrica, University of Maribor - Faculty of Economics and Business, participated in this stage.
The second stage of the research embraced identification of currently used teaching models in the countries represented by the project partners.
As a result of the identification of current teaching models and the implementation of changes proposed by researchers in the third stage of research, there were created process educational models with the use of modern teaching methods.

A new educational model was proposed containing modern teaching methods and then verified on a group of over 2,000 students studying at six European universities, including Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. The conducted research was the basis for developing a recommendation to apply a new teaching model focused on developing creativity, entrepreneurship, communicativeness and group work. Students-future employees who participated in the research highly assessed the effectiveness of the proposed teaching methods.
