Abstract:
This article describes the theoretical aspects of sexting. It further studies sexting etiology and explains the reasons why the adolescents tend to incline to such behavior. We present partial empiric results of our research aimed at detecting statistically significant differences of sexting motives based on participants’ age and gender. Lastly, we propose the available possibilities for intervention through the instrumental enrichment program that would be applicable for this social pathological phenomenon. The program is designed for people of all ages (children, young and seniors) and has a versatile use, although its primary objective is to eliminate deficient cognitive functions. However, other goals include developing emotional and positive social behavior. First, we describe the theoretical background of the program, whose author is a well-known psychologist and pedagogue Reuven Feuerstein. Subsequently, we focus on concrete possibilities of its use in solving socio-pathological phenomena. We select some pages from the worksheets and we present how they can be used by a pedagogue or any other mediator in solving the current topic of sexting.
