Abstract:
COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the way global education is delivered. Millions of students have been affected by the closure of educational institutions as a result of a pandemic that has resulted in the largest online movement in the history of education. Due to this sudden shift away from classrooms in many parts of the world, universities have had to move quickly to virtual and digital strategies. Many believe that the adoption of online distance learning will continue after the pandemic. However, it is necessary to find out what impact this education had on students from several points of view. Online education offers many benefits and could be continued after the end of the pandemic, but since students are the priority (key) in terms of education, we found out how and to what extent their distance education affected them. The aim of the paper is to point out the perception of distance education by students, focusing on four areas, namely the final evaluation of individual subjects, the quality of education, mutual cooperation with teachers and other students and leisure time. To achieve this goal, a primary research was carried out, through which students of a selected university in Slovakia had the opportunity to express their opinion. The benefit of the research is in particular to point out the various aspects of the educational process perceived by students, which should be taken into account in the decision-making process when continuing online education.
