Abstract:
There is an increasing interest in using technologies in education. One of the trendiest technology is Mixed reality (MR) applications. Mixed reality is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. The combination of MR technology with an educational content creates a new type of applications. This technology is used in many fields of science – such as medicine and engineering. The MR applications use holograms to present objects and make the user interact with these objects in real time - the user can "play"(rotate, move, resize) with them. In this way, the learning becomes more interesting, detailed and effective.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce MR technology and how it is used in education - what are the devices used in education, what are the advantages of MR applications and how this kind of applications increases the quality of education. The aim of this paper is to present a systematic review of existing MR applications developed for the needs of education.
