DIDACTIC COMPETENCIES OF STUDENTS OF TEACHER STUDY PROGRAMS TO PLAN A LESSON IN THE SPIRIT OF DEVELOPING HIGHER COGNITIVE FUNCTIONS

Abstract:
The paper is focused on the issue of education of students of the 3rd year of teacher training programs Bc. degree at University of Prešov in Prešov. The author determined the level and reserves in the pedagogical - didactic abilities of students. Based on the methodological literature of Chráska (2007), Gulová, Śípa (2013), the author decided to carry out a descriptive survey, to analyze the preparations for students' lessons by the method of content analysis, with the help of quantitative and qualitative evaluation. 496 student preparations were subjected to content analysis. The basic sorting universe of content analysis of preparations (and thus assessment of their quality) were didactic categories: teaching goals, organizational forms, teaching methods. The author specifically focused on the shortcomings and errors in the didactic description of the categories. Why did he focus on mistakes? The author is convinced that errors in student performance can significantly draw attention not only to the reserves in the work of students, and thus provide them with the necessary feedback, but also to draw attention to reserves in the organization, content, teaching of general didactics. An additional method of the analysis was an interview with students. The author states that the researched students have reserves in the ability to correctly formulate teaching goals, to find the educational meaning of the curriculum.
