Abstract:
Due to the fact that today global processes, both economic, political and social, are extremely intensive, it’s important for a modern person to be able to adapt to different conditions, which helps to develop a flexible approach to learning and the use of all new teaching techniques that meet the modern request of society. The most interesting today are communicative teaching methods, which best help to master the vocabulary of a foreign language and speaking skills. The study and implementation of this method in the teaching process determines the relevance of this study.

Modern linguistics considers language as a hierarchical structure consisting of a number of levels, each of which is characterized by its own set of language signs. At the lexical level, such units as words, stable combinations, speech clichés function. During a course of study in school, pupils must learn the meaning and forms of these units and be able to use them in various types of speech activity, that is, to master lexical skills. So, a lexical skill is the ability to automatically call a word, phrase or phrase from a long-term memory due to the installation of various types of speech activity. The scientific novelty of our study lies in the development and testing of a methodological model for the formation of students' communicative competence, which teaches schoolchildren to build productive speech and allows ensuring the general cultural level of a person. The object of the study is the process of formation of the lexical skill of schoolchildren.

The theoretical and methodological basis of the research are the scientific works of the following native and foreign educators, methodologists and psychologists dedicated to research problems: N. G. Alekseev, G.L. Valuyskaya, K.D. Ushinsky, D. B. Elkonin, N.K. Vinokurova, D.N. Kozhevnikov, I.V. Kulagina, N.N. Lebedeva, E.Yu. Martakova, A.A. Karelin, I.V. Dubrovina, V.I. Petrushin, L.D. Stolyarenko, A.M. Matyushin, A.A. Krylov, A.A. Mirolyubova, I.M. Berman, I.L. Bim, et al. The relevance of this study is due to the fact that the use of game technology at the English lesson in the context of the use of a communicative teaching method facilitates the assimilation of new vocabulary and motivates the pupil. The theoretical significance of this work is that in this work, the principles of the application of the communicative method, which, in turn, is controversially perceived in the modern Russian school, and therefore it is rarely used. The practical significance of this work is that the results of the study can contribute to writing a training course, drawing up a series of exercises, developing methods for teaching foreign language vocabulary.
