Abstract:
The faculty has a very important role in the economic and social development, through the specialists it trains. Faculties should be much more focused on the reality of practice and harmonize the content of curricula with the requirements of the labor market. There are few faculties that make considerable efforts to provide students with quality training; training that involves a qualification on well-defined lines of competence, which offers graduates a clear perspective on the career and the opportunities it opens up.

The present study aims to collect and analyze statistical data on assessing student satisfaction regarding graduate and undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Engineering of the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, Romania. The obtained answers aim to improve the quality of the processes carried out with students, as well as to correlate their training with the requirements of the labor market.

The elaboration of the questionnaire started from the premise that no one can better evaluate the quality and usefulness of a study program than the person who attended it and graduated it. The study includes quantitative, survey data, obtained in 2020 from 448 graduates of the undergraduate cycle, through questionnaire-based surveys. Thus, the study aimed to detect the opinions of undergraduates and employers in the fields of reference, in order to compare them, to build an overview of the link between higher education and the labor market. The degree of employability of new graduates depends largely on the quality of the training they received, so the objectivity of curriculum evaluation must prevail in the training process.

The results of this study represent an important step in increasing the quality of the teaching act. Beyond the inventory of data types and dimensions covered by this research, a detailed analysis of the responses generated by each item was performed. Thus, the theoretical analysis performed in this study is complemented by a methodological analysis that facilitated the formulation of improvement recommendations.
