Abstract:
This research was undertaken to develop and validate a relationship model of variables affecting undergraduates’ the Self-Directed Learning Readiness (S-DLR) in area of health science, Thailand. The sample consisted of 376 undergraduates. These undergraduates were randomly selected using stratified sampling technique. The exogenous variables were Self-Confident, Self-directed learning attitude, Achievement Motivation, and Self-Discipline while the internal latent variable was Self-Directed Learning Readiness. The research instrument included five set of questionnaires: Self-Confident, Self-directed learning attitude, Achievement Motivation, Self-Discipline, and Self-Directed Learning Readiness. Data were analyzed by using SPSS to obtain descriptive statistics, and by employing LISREL 8.51 for model validation. It was found that the adjusted model was not consistent with empirical data. Goodness of fit measures were found to be: chi-square =173.67, df. = 38, p = .00, GFI = .93, CFI = .98, SRMR = .05, RMSEA = .09. The variables in the model accounted for 86.3 percent of the variance in Self-Directed Learning Readiness. Keywords:
self-directed learning readiness, self-confident, self-directed learning attitude.
