Abstract:
The purposes of this research were (1) to study internet acception, knowledge from internet, internet-usage experience, internet-usage behavior, attitude toward to internet, internet-based instruction management, internet-usage for learning, and learning achievement of high schools students in Bangkok area, and (2) to study factors that affected to the internet-usage for learning, to the knowledge from internet, and to the learning achievement of above students. The sample group was 400 from high schools students, academic year of 2006, in Bangkok Metropolis. The instrument used for collecting data was a Likert scale questionnaire which passes validity of item-objective congruence index with the value .5 upwards. For the reliability, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was between .747-.888. Then the data were analyzed using SPSS for Windows to find out mean, standard deviation (S.D), simple correlation, and path analysis. The research results showed that:
1. internet acception, knowledge from internet, internet-usage for learning, attitude toward to internet, internet-usage behavior, and internet-based instruction management were at medium average level. The average of internet-usage experience was 6-year, and the mean of learning achievement was 3.11 (S.D. = .53)
2. The variables that have statistic significant correlated to the internet-usage for learning at .05 were the internet-based instruction management, internet acception, internet-usage behavior, and attitude toward to internet. These variables have positive correlated toward the internet-usage for learning. While the variables that have significant correlated to the knowledge from internet at .05 were the internet-based instruction management, internet acception, internet-usage behavior, attitude toward to internet, and internet-usage for learning. Such variables have non-significant correlated to the learning achievement at .05.
3. The causal relationship towards the knowledge from internet of above students was influenced from the internet-usage for learning and internet-based instruction management, attitude toward to internet, internet acception, and also Internet-usage behavior, which the influence values were .680, .224, .182,.120, and .144 respectively. The learning achievement of such students is directly influenced from the knowledge from internet that the influence value was .092, and the causal relationship model of the Internet-based learning could explain or predict the relationship of the whole system with a percentage of 62.5.
