Abstract:
In the course Communication and Written Media, which belongs to the Degree of Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Alicante, an online media is made (www.comunicando.com.es) in order to develop the skills and abilities listed on the syllabus of the subject. This innovative methodology, through a cooperative work, has been supplemented last year with the development of podcasting. The group of volunteer students who collaborate throughout the course proposed to introduce multimedia tools to enhance and complement their work while redacting the online newspaper. In this way, students learn from a real environment what an online media is, what kind of sections it has, the right way to write on the Internet, and how to prepare a radio script, record it and play it on the Internet. The interest of this research is justified by the need of innovative teaching methods related to ICT, able to motivate students and make their learning easier.

Podcasting collects the most relevant news written in Comunic@ndo, it includes some recordings of interviews conducted by students and discussions on subjects of interest. Thus, students have the opportunity to present their news in a different way from digital text, supplementing the same and offering the public a different way to learn. The teachers co-ordinate the editing process, as well as the editors meetings.
