Abstract:
The report examines the development of a virtual light laboratory that could help novice lighting or graphic designers experiment with artificial light sources and explore their parameters. Students who study the properties and characteristics of light need to master the management of its various parameters to achieve the desired effect on a person's perceptions. Experimenting with these characteristics in a real environment is a rather laborious and expensive process, requiring specialized equipment in certain conditions. The need for an alternative to physical experiments arises. On the other hand, the possibilities in a virtual environment are limitless: the problem area could be considered in all aspects and applied to e-learning during a pandemic. The virtual lighting laboratory is implemented as an interactive electronic manual. It allows users to test and experiment with various tools in a controlled environment, accompanied by theory material of the subject area and detailed explanations of each program option and feature. The software platform allows users to apply different materials and textures to 3D-generated objects. The primary purpose is to be used during lectures or exercises by students and lecturers for a more straightforward presentation of the learning sources.
