EVALUATION OF THE LEARNING STRATEGIES IN SPECIFIC SUBJECTS OF STUDIES OF ENGINEERING

From the new conceptualization of Higher education, towards a more autonomous education, it turns out necessary to design programs that go with this learning process. With this end, a detailed study has been carried out regarding the tools and strategies the student uses in the course of his studies.
This particular case is focused on the studies that are given in the ETSIE, in particular, a specific subject, Construction of the Structures of Reinforced Concrete. In order to draw the results, diverse methods of summary of data compilation were used: follow-up and attention to the development of the activities of the classroom, both theoretical and practical; analysis of questions related to the methodology of study used during the term and the final preparation of the subject, (questions referred to the tutorial action, planning, way of the study and to the groupal work. The contributions that the student have carried out in open response mode, in order to detect problems, share information and favor the communication, which differently had not been possible to know, have been a particular aim of the present study. These analyses, in addition, have been confronted by the academic obtained results.
The teacher puts a quantity of information adjusted to the competences to be worked within their studies plan at the disposal of the students. Nevertheless, sometimes he forgets other cross curricular competences that intervene in his personal, professional and academic progress. Thus, what could teachers offer to students for them to improve their particular development, his academic performance and, in addition, to achieve that the acquisition of competences and capacities are suitable and ideal.
In conclusion, by means of the obtained information, its analysis and detailed study, we have demonstrated the needs that have motivated the carrying out actions of improvement in the teaching - learning process of the subject under study.
