Abstract:
In the last few years, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have had a great influence on the university. Many technological platforms have been developed in order to ensure a large available number of Open Educational Resources. It is a new approach to the production of teaching and learning materials. Nevertheless, it does not guarantee the selection of appropriate materials in virtual learning communities. There are scientific studies that evidence it. Quality in Open Educational Resources‘ material should be provided. For this reason it should be also considered the need of establishing indicators to asses Open Textbooks in virtual learning communities; moreover it can be used as a support for educational activities. The aim of this paper is to develop quality indicators and to design an electronic rubric for assessing Open Textbooks. The purpose of electronic rubric is to collect informations able to provide better and improved material. Conclusions and recommendations are presented in the study.
