Abstract:
In the Slovak Republic, due to the worsening of the epidemiological situation within the coronavirus crisis, universities and colleges were forced to eliminate classical full-time education as much as possible. At the beginning of the winter teaching block, from September 2020, the University of Economics in Bratislava switched exclusively to the distance form of education. It was necessary to look for suitable alternatives not only in the theoretical field, but also in the application of the acquired theoretical knowledge. In an effort to meet business practice, it was necessary to increase the participation of practical solutions in teaching. The distance form of teaching, and especially during the coronavirus crisis, limits this requirement.

The course Financial Analysis and Financial Planning is included in the engineering study. The course includes the creation of a financial plan of a selected company on the basis of publicly available financial statements in digital form. Students in the Corporate Finance study program are already able to apply theoretical knowledge to specific practical outputs. In this case, it is an explicitly practically focused subject. From this point of view, in the conditions of distance teaching during the coronary crisis, it is necessary to choose the appropriate method of teaching and the tools used in the subject.

Already during the first wave of the pandemic, when classical full-time teaching was interrupted almost after the middle of the semester, virtual classrooms were partially used in university education. This paper reflects our pedagogical experience in teaching Financial Analysis and Financial Planning during the COVID-19 crisis. The paper is a description of the implementation of teaching in the current situation in the conditions of the COVID-19 crisis. The whole teaching takes place in the online space. The choice of teaching method and tools used should meet the criterion of the necessary need for close contact between the student and the teacher. The practical implementation of the training has shown that this can be ensured through the Microsoft Teams application and shared online office applications.
