Abstract:
The globalisation of the labour market, the hegemony of multinational corporates, the emergence of artificial intelligence, automation, and robotisation in production processes, and the significant environmental issues of these days are putting pressure on the formation of international specialist teams to address global challenges. This situation also puts pressure on higher education institutions to respond flexibly to the demands of the labour market, while contributing to addressing the challenges of today utilising innovation and applying new ideas based on the results of research and scientific work.

How to deal with the rapidly changing world and the growing challenges within higher education? What is the role of a university teacher, student and management? Which educational methods to apply to education to prepare modern specialists for international teams working on global issues? How to deepen internationalising higher education within Europe? Is the language barrier the main obstacle that is vital to eliminate to progress internationalising higher education in Europe?

The paper aims to map the situation in the process of internationalisation in higher education. It will deliver the data obtained by applying the content analysis of published studies in various scientific journals regarding the process of internationalisation. Paper mainly concerns to discuss if the CLIL approach can be the way for increasing the internationalisation process in higher education. The paper will introduce the current Visegrad + project focused on promoting interdisciplinary cooperation between ESP / CLIL experts and disciplinary teachers to enhance teaching disciplinary subjects in English. Other project objectives will be presented, such as building professional communities and providing for them a digital platform as knowledge, cooperation, and sharing virtual environment. Finally, some interpretations of the findings will be described.
