Abstract:
Security education is a specific part of education. It focuses not only on object security but also national or international security. Specific education in the field of security can be taught in selected fields of study, with the need to regularly update the requirements for the graduate. As part of public higher education in Slovakia, the Faculty of Security Management, University of Žilina in Žilina, has been taking care of security education for almost twenty years. During its pedagogical activities, the faculty has transformed the requirements for a graduate several times, through accreditation but also the requirements of practice at the international level. The requirements of the internship during the pedagogical activities of the faculty gradually changed, as the company's view of employees in the field of security changed.

The article focuses on the evaluation of the requirements of practice, found out from questionnaire surveys in the past and, based on their evaluation, defines important milestones in the transformation of security education. In addition to assessing the development of the past, the article outlines how security education should be transformed in order to be able to actively respond to the new challenges in the field of security caused by the digitization of society.
