CHALLENGES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MILITARY EDUCATION FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OF DECLARED FORCES IN UN PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS

Abstract:
The research subject of presented paper is the improvement of the quality of the process and especially the content of education and training of military personnel in the conditions of the Slovak Republic in the field of crisis response operations with a focus on UN peacekeeping operations. The aim of the paper is to formulate challenges in the area of improving the quality of subject education in view of the latest experience of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic from the operation of peacekeeping forces in UN peacekeeping operations.
The paper originates from available sources and the authors' analyses. It is based on information from domestic and also foreign scientific and professional publications, articles, studies, qualification papers, including national and alliance documents. Last but not least, it implies the identified knowledge and practical experience of the authors of the paper, which they acquired during their pre-deployment training and during the actual deployments in crisis response operations.
The paper is divided into two parts. The first part of the paper is dedicated to the basic orientation of the topic, the definition of the basic theoretical constructs, including the definition of the conceptual apparatus and the outline of the framework and relevant roles of military forces in UN peacekeeping operations. The second part, representing the main contribution of the paper, presents the proposal of the educational program, especially its content focus, in the field of UN peacekeeping operations in the conditions of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.Keywords:
