Abstract:
The aim of the paper is to demonstrate that movement-based activities can be implemented during “reading” wordless picture books at primary level of education using a methodology stated by Burnett (2018). The methodology is practically applied to wordless picture book Sidewalk Flowers (2015) by JonArno Lawson and Sydney Smith enriched by practical recommendations for teaching practice.

Each out of six procedure steps:
1. Look at the cover of a book and describe what you see,
2. Read the title and guess what the story is about. Look at the cover again and think how it is linked to the title,
3. Take a “picture walk.” Skim through the pages and focus on the pictures,
4. Reread the story again and add other details to it,
5. Encourage the learners to tell their own version of the story,
6. Ask the learners specific questions regarding various aspects of the story accompanied by reasoning) contains one integrated movement-based activity whose aim is to interconnect the movement itself and teaching English language.

The integrated movement-based activities are selected with respect to concrete procedure step creating the link between exercise, movement and learning which can potentially be included in primary school curriculum. The selected movement-based activities can be used in the classroom and also during online lessons.
