The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra is the only agricultural university in Slovakia and therefore has a specific status and importance in Slovakia. The university structure consists of six faculties and mathematical subjects are included as a part of bachelor study programs at following five faculties: Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of European studies and Regional Development, Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences and Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering.

Mathematical subjects are taught in different content and extent at each faculty. Some subjects are compulsory or optional and are taught within one or two semesters. These subjects also include specific applied problems proper for each faculty. Mathematical education at these faculties of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra is very important because the mathematical apparatus is a part of some specialized subjects taught in the next years of bachelor and master study programs. At the end of the first and second semester in the first year of university study, students take an exam in compulsory mathematical subjects.

The analysis of study outcomes in mathematical subjects at the abovementioned faculties is carried out by selected methods of mathematical statistics.
