Abstract:
User requirements encompass the needs of users and consumers for products or services and can be thematically assigned to the requirements engineering. Evaluating user needs is considered one of the most significant challenges for creating successful products. Especially e-commerce platforms offer an opportunity to gather user needs using online reviews. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, many consumers have shifted their search and purchase behavior from store shopping to e-commerce platforms. Therefore, an increase in online reviews is assumed.

The COVID-19 pandemic has also led to a shift in teaching requirements engineering from offline to online. To improve digital collaboration, we utilize online collaboration tools. This paper describes a student big data project examining the possibilities of automatic user needs detection. The project's primary goal is to develop an AI-based approach to extract and assess user needs by analyzing online reviews.

By means of online collaboration software and agile project methods, the students organize and coordinate the project independently. To structure and coordinate the project, the students form teams that work according to self-defined rules and timelines. The overall project coordination and communication are managed by a superordinated project management and team leaders, both determined by the students. The students have to develop their project structure and organization.
The result of this report is how the contents of requirements engineering and artificial intelligence can be taught in a modern way using a generic approach. Utilizing online collaboration software, we highlight a course that shows how student projects can be carried out exclusively online and, in addition, improves communication among students and lecturers.
