Abstract:
To explore the new model of Korean school education, this study analyzes the literature and reviews the challenges of primary and secondary education in Korea under the COVID-19 situation. Due to the COVID-19 situation, Korean school education has been changed to online teaching. The face-to-face learning in the classroom has now converted to an online course for students in their homes, and the role of a school has gradually disappeared.

The school's ability to relieve the educational gap has weakened, and the students' home environment has a greater impact on their educational achievement. Under the COVID-19 situation, online learning has led to a greater educational gap than before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The biggest problem facing Korean school education since the COVID-19 pandemic is “the educational gap caused by their home environment”, and the impact is not only on the students' educational achievement but also on their emotions.

Learning from these changes and challenges encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that Korean school education will serve as a model for the global education system for the post-COVID-19 era.
