Abstract:
The concept of education development is currently focused on the digitization and informatisation of the entire educational process at all levels of education. The order is to improve and enhance the knowledge level of students while trying to respond to the needs of practice and the labour market. This is also closely linked to the development of the digital information space in this field.

We look at how the development of the digital information space affects to global information space mainly in teaching geometry as part of the mathematical education of students at universities. We will devote an engineering study programms as well as teacher's study programms.

We compare the new trends in teaching geometry with ones in past. We remind of possible pitfalls related to the digitization of education and use of digital information space. We describe our experience of teaching geometry as part of mathematics with using software Moodle at the University. We deal at how information technology affects synthetic and analytical methods in teaching geometry.

We look at it whether digitizing of the educational process can help link these both approaches in teaching geometry and thus can ensure a more comprehensive knowledge of students.
