Abstract:
Today's pupils commonly use digital technology and perceive it as a natural part of their lives. One of the school tasks in this area is to highlight the educational potential of digital technologies. Digital education according to the Digital Education Strategy document means “education that responds changes in society related to the development of digital technologies and their use in various areas of human activities”. It includes both education that makes effective use of digital technologies to support teaching and learning, and education that develops pupil’s digital literacy and prepares them for employment in society and the labour market. (Digital Education Strategy to 2020, 2014 years). At the end of 2014, the Government of the Czech Republic approved the document Digital Education Strategy to 2020. The document was designed on the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT). The document elaborates the priorities of the Education Policy Strategy of the Czech Republic until 2020 for the digital environment. This document responds to the continuous development of digital technologies and envisages the gradual involvement of modern technologies in education. The aim of the strategy is to set conditions and processes in education that enables realization of digital education. The digital education strategy sets out three priority objectives: to open way of new methods education and ways of learning through digital technologies; to improve pupils' competences in the work with information and digital technologies and to develop pupils' information thinking. Teachers at schools should show pupils how to work with digital technologies in their classroom and the school should teach pupils how to use digital technologies effectively. Different digital technologies are used in teaching in different subjects at school. The article describes concrete possibilities and examples of digital technologies using based on teachers experience. Empirical research was realized with help of questionnaire, discussion, and interview. The research is focused on the use of digital technologies in primary school education. The article will be focused on the issue of digitization in education in the Czech Republic.
