Abstract:
Students of mathematics for elementary school teachers will develop spatial imagination for elementary school pupils and will teach pupils to solve various design tasks. Spatial imagination is very important to be successful in engineering studies. Research has shown that students are successfully in study with technical skills. A suitable tool for developing the spatial imagination of elementary school pupils is the Lego kit. Another suitable means of spatial imagination developing of elementary school pupils is to compose spatial models - crystals. This is a folding technique called origami. Origami models are created by folding paper that has the shape of a square, and spatial models are created by folding usually more squares. The free parallel projection is an another suitable means of spatial imagination developing. Primary school pupils are preparing for technical practice in geometry. When constructing structures use free parallel projection, elementary school pupils learn to display spatial geometric objects. We will examine the success of pupils in solving examples from spatial geometry.
