Abstract:
The training of future teachers in the Czech Republic requires modern approaches. Modern trends in education involve: creation of new sorts of electronic study texts, using of information systems and dynamic computer systems and implementation of English language in classes. The training of future teachers requires top special knowledge both educators and students and the mastering of English is required too. The top level of both factors contributes to creation of excellence phenomenon in training of future teachers to their job. The paper is based on the program Excellence at Czech universities issued by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the aim of which is earmarked to support the efforts of universities to achieve excellence in educational activities, in such fields, in which a given college has been showing excellent results. The aim of Palacky University in Olomouc, Faculty of Education, Department of Mathematics contribute to putting Excellence program into practice by means of high quality preparation of the graduates. In this paper we would like to inform on the activities of the Departmant of Mathematics staff, which we believe, is directly related to the Excellence program. The Departmant of Mathematics members have recently submitted several projects aimed at improving the undergraduate preparation of students. To our graduates to be the European Union members with equal rights, they must be able to show their professional skills in a foreign language as well. In recent years to the fore of interest there is the first of all the need of increases of language culture in the European educational context. The authors refer about projects realized by the Department of Mathematics focused on support for bilingual education and preparation of study materials for mathematics in English.Keywords:
