Abstract:
Research conducted by reputable organizations for the past eight years seem to suggest that there are common behaviors and practices of teachers and school leaders in high performing schools globally. These global communities will be the primarily emphasis in this study: Finland, South Korea, Singapore, New Zealand and some U.S.A. based school systems. This study will focus on common practices and characteristics of high performing schools based on school vision, selection of teachers, value and culture, expectations of all students, learning communities, curriculum, monitoring, teaching and learning, differentiated professional development, positive learning environment, family and community support, and appropriate school resources. The benefit of this study will help other school communities globally to reflect on their own practices and to seek ways to improve their behaviors that can increase the performance of all students.
