Abstract:
This article was written to present and discuss particular actions taken by heads of Polish schools in order to start cooperation with their schools’ local environment. That kind of actions became one of the requirements of external evaluation conducted in Poland by educational authorities that had been introduced to the Polish system of pedagogical supervision in 2009.

This study is based on an overview of research results from primary and high schools concerning the use of feedback coming from the pedagogical supervision of the system of external evaluation. In this study, schools that achieved high and low results in the controls were compared.

The author emphasises the important role of cooperation with local environment for the development of learning processes that occur in schools. Cooperation that meets the needs of individuals and of the team is an important element. It should be the role of the school head to take into consideration ideas coming from teachers, students and parents concerning starting cooperation with local environment. It is an indispensable element of organic leadership, which is the most desirable style of leadership in the ever-changing contemporary reality.
