Abstract:
One of the main difficulties for the integration of deaf people at school is related to the adaptation to their specific requirements. Thanks to the use of Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) for sign language, the learning process of this group has been improved in the last years. Many of these systems are based on virtual 3D avatars but they do not take into account the particular characteristics of each user such as age, level of reading, grade of hearing disability, etc. Therefore, our work is focused on the design of an adaptative schema, based on Bayesian networks, with the aim of customizing the associated virtual avatar which best fits the user needs.
