EVALUATION OF MASSAGE COURSE IN PHYSIOTHERAPY THROUGH WEB BASED PORTFOLIO A PILOT TEACHING INNOVATION

INTRODUCTION
The adoption of new educational paradigm based on the European Space for Higher Education requires an adaptation of the teaching methodology and evaluation skills to work in undergraduate degrees.
OBJECTIVES
The aim of this work was describe and assess the implementation of a digital portfolio as an evaluation system in the Massage Therapy course in Physiotherapy degree at the Miguel Hernández University.
METHODS
Twenty-five volunteered students (20 women and 5 men; mean age of 20,1 ± 2,22 years) participated in this experience. The monitoring of this methodology is framed in a learning agreement signed between the teacher early in the course.
The analysis of the work was carried out using an instrument based on SEEQ questionnaire (Student 'Evaluations of Educational Quality) combined with open questions.
RESULTS
The overall assessment of the experience was very positive (81.56%) or fairly positive (16,44%). In all dimensions of the questionnaire has been achieved very high scores (4,6 ± 0,4). The most positive was "able to work along the way and not to decide the weight of evaluation in a final exam" and "approve learning." As negative aspects include: a low loading speed and connection with the website and the overhead of carrying the portfolio to date.
CONCLUSIONS
The digital portfolio is a learning assessment system that fits into the new European Higher Education Space since it’s student-centered, promotes and facilitates independent learning skills development.
The use of portfolio has been very well received and acceptance in students who have used it as a teaching strategy, despite it involves more effort.
However, despite its virtues, is not a method without difficulties: technical, human resources, work habits, summative evaluation.

Arguably, this method requires more record of the pupil, increased assistance to mentoring, a commitment to the teacher, resulting in greater accountability, involvement and workload for both, but also greater enthusiasm and motivation
