Abstract:
In this work, an educational proposal to teach and analyze concepts of mechanics through the use of experiments carried out with Lego pieces is presented. The proposal considers four stages. In the first, students build mechanisms using Lego pieces. In the second stage, the movement produced by the mechanism is analyzed through video-analysis using the Tracker software. In the third, the theoretical model is established, it is solved using Mathematica or Matlab and the theoretical results are compared with the experimental results. The proposal ends with a physical concept evaluation system using the Canvas platform.

Some of the experiments studied are: launching of objects by catapult, lifting of objects by means of pulley systems and motors, movement in the Slider-Connecting Rod mechanism, movement of a cart on an inclined plane, analysis of movement with obstacles, movement in a roller coaster. At the end, the results in both learning and the development of disciplinary competencies of the students who participated in the educational experience are discussed.
