Abstract:
The platform of English language teaching (DITONLINE) emerged as a research project given the need to provide technological tools to assist in the formation of the future teacher of English, this platform was designed for students of the Faculty of Science and Education Distrital University Francisco José de Caldas in Bogotá, Colombia.
Target population of this platform had a problem teaching in the teaching of the future English teacher, those problems were divided into four aspects: first, there is a partial or total absence of development of students' work outside the classroom (autonomous work) in the second aspect we find shortage and difficult to access to the available literature for the development of curriculum for the subjects, because the University does not have the appropriate library resources to complete development of students, A third issue concerns the lack of communication and interaction in the following relationships: teacher - student, teacher - teacher, student - student (Note that at last mentioned occurs because most students work on their free time and do other activities which prevents them from interaction and communication with other students and teachers) and the last point relates to the partial or total absence of non-textual tools (multimedia contents) to improve the teaching and learning of the future English teacher.

Given the previous problems we proceeded to the construction of the educational platform which was developed under the constructivist model of education through the software development methodology RUP (Rational Unified Process) in the technological, on the investigative methodology was used research created from the research process models posed by Carlos Eduardo Mendez Alvarez, Hector Daniel Lerma, Mario Tamayo and Hugo Cerda Gutierrez. The teaching platform developed under the Java J2EE technology, using a JBoss application server and using the database engine PostgreSQL. Note that the tools used to develop educational platform is completely open source.
The didactics platform has different systems that divide the application functionality, these systems are: registration system (allows join to the platform according to their profiles students, teachers), communication system (provides users with educational platform information on news and events of general interest), help system (help users to know the usability and navigability of the platform), storage system (allows teachers and students to upload and download content of interest to share with other users and improve access to information in digital media), system manager communities (allows create communities or so-called interest groups which will discuss and create knowledge using technology tools such as chat, forum, the wiki), a system of interaction, multimedia system (allows loading and playing multimedia content which can enhance the learning of English by making use of multimedia content) and finally a links system (in it users can post links to their respective description).
