Abstract:
How the perception and motivation of students relates to their attitudes and opinions towards Physical Education continues to be the focus and interest of new investigations (Chen, 2001; Moreno y Hellín, 2002; Weiss y Ferrer Caja, 2002). Previous studies have tried to determine which aspects of physical education relate with the level of interest students have and the value they place on P.E. lessons.
This study was conducted to analyse the opinions of students towards Physical Education classes using the Analysis of Physical Education Satisfaction Questionnaire (A.P.E.S.Q.). A sample of 512 students of 3º cycle of Primary Schools in Andalusia was analyzed. The principal results show that pupils, who perceive the educator as agreeable, happy and fair, would prefer the teacher to be more motivating during teaching. However, no students would replace the Physical Education lessons by any other subject if given the opportunity.
