Abstract:
The "Immersive Technologies Laboratory" project is a territorial cooperation and educational innovation initiative whose main objective has been to integrate Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and mixed technologies into Vocational Training classrooms. The project was carried out through a territorial cooperation between the CIPFP Faitanar and the INS Domènech i Montaner, and was funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport under the "Groups of Educational Centers" program.

In the field of technical training, specifically in the intermediate level of electromechanical maintenance, students often face difficulties accessing complex machinery and real industrial environments. To overcome these barriers, this project has created a collaborative virtual environment where teachers and students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds have been able to share designs and projects. A key aspect has been research and implementation of agile methodologies to create 3D models quickly and easily, leveraging scanning technologies and generative artificial intelligence. Furthermore, an open-access platform has been used to share these digital resources, fostering collaboration and cooperation so that the materials generated are available to other institutions.

Students have positively valued the use of these technologies for improving their understanding of the subjects. In addition to improving their technical and digital skills, they have also appreciated the impact on their motivation to use these innovative methodologies and the practical feasibility of consolidating this new open-access framework for collaborative teaching for its future transfer to other professional fields.
