Abstract:
Whilst there is the European Union’s Common Framework for language acquisition there is no real measurement of the proficiency level for literature. This researcher has seen the lack of grasp there is in the teacher training arena beyond the basic knowledge of the author, genre, and devices used in the classic works which are taught at both the high school and higher educational levels. What this project is entailing is setting the levels of proficiency in various areas of literary research and analysis. Literature methodology is an area that has been ignored in the teacher education arena. There is a methodology which can be utilized for both language acquisition and literary analysis. With the lack of training, there is a need to rely on mentors and implementing the techniques that were used in the literature courses taken as students. What has been the traditional curriculum for literature majors must now incorporate a design which is cross disciplinary, international, technology, and benchmarks to be achieved in order to complete teacher training programs.Keywords:
