Abstract:
Online booking system is getting big market in this decade. The objective of this system is to make the working with the organization easier, quicker, and more efficient. It shall also help users/customers in supporting their decision making, enquiring info, and re-build their final decision. The main focus of the online booking is to resolve the conflict within the resource sharing management to it’s fully utilization. Online booking system can be divided into two-categories, based on the nature of business: a) profit –based organization and b) non-profit organization.

Among favorites online booking systems are: airline reservation system and hotel reservation system for profit-based company. While room booking system and online library system are among the most common online system for non-profit organization.

Due to the favorites, there are some patterns that could be followed with the nature of the problem domain. In software development, a pattern is a written document that describes a general solution to a design problem that recurs repeatedly in many projects. Software designers adapt the pattern solution to their specific project. Patterns use a formal approach to describing a design problem, its proposed solution, and any other factors that might affect the problem or the solution. A successful pattern should have established itself as leading to a good solution in three previous projects or situations.

The main aim of the proposed research is to look into online room booking system patterns from the perspective of tasks analysis, users analysis and objects model in open source platform. It shall suggest the usage of agent (where necessary) to compromised the complexity of scheduling process as well as to help supporting the decision making process.
