Abstract:
This paper describes the introduction of blended learning into the learning environment of a college within the ambit of a university in Saudi Arabia. E-learning implementation includes the use of a learning management system with elements such as interactive crossword puzzles, role play simulation, online drill quizzes, online forums and screen recordings. The approach is to augment the learning environment with e-learning to provide a more conducive learning environment for students. Through this approach, the college provides a variety of learning avenues for students of different learning styles. Another strategy is to provide a technology advanced learning environment appropriate to the level of technology the generation Y students are familiar with. Survey analysis indicates that students enjoy e-learning and believe it is beneficial for them. As to the usefulness of the content provided, students strongly agree that the content is useful. This indicates that the students value the content provided on the e-learning platform. The paper presents implementation strategy and survey outcome details.
