Abstract:
The paper presents an approach to blended learning that enhances the traditional learning environment by augmenting it through emerging technologies in e-learning. Edu-gaming provides the engaging element in learning while role play simulation, in essence, provides the much needed experiential learning. Furthermore, role play simulation provides the role players with real world problem solving challenges. This approach has been implemented at a college in a university in Saudi Arabia. This paper also describes implementation strategies that help the instructors to diversify on the approach to imparting cognitive skills of the Bloom’s Taxonomy. Edu-gaming has been implemented using learning tools such as interactive crossword puzzles through a group gaming approach which enhances teamwork skills.Keywords:
