Abstract:
Current research information system (CRIS) is an information system to store, manage and exchange contextual metadata for the research activity funded by a research funder or conducted at a research-performing organization. The goal of such system is to aid the dissemination of research data in an Open Access way. Data in such system should be FAIR, which is data that is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. Of course, to make all data FAIR, some guidelines and compliance is to be followed.

In Europe, EOSC has created the set of guidelines and rules to be followed in order to make Research Data accessible by all EU researchers through interoperable FAIR data. Previous work done showed that Albania didn’t have CRIS implementation across research institutions. A first prototype was presented to be implemented in Albania to support Open Science.

In this paper, we detail the implementation of the Albanian Current research information system deployed following the prototype presented before. All the steps necessary to have it compliant to EOSC are explained in details and the next step to improve the system are shown.

In conclusion, the implemented system will help Albania join the EOSC initiative in the future. The system is already deployed and accessible by Albanian researchers, to foster Open Science in the country.
