Abstract:
The purpose of teaching a foreign language is to form a foreign language communicative competence that allows you to extract sufficiently complete information when reading foreign language texts, understand the interlocutor, and also express your thoughts, point of view orally or in writing to use interactive forms of classes in the educational process in order to form the necessary general cultural competencies. Speaking is the most difficult type of speech activity, the mastery of which is fraught with great difficulties. These difficulties are due to the complexity of the process of generating a communicative utterance, which is far from simple and takes place in the native language, since it is associated with the formulation of the nature of thought by means of language.
The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that at present society has entered a new stage of its development, which has led to significant changes in all spheres of life. The educational sphere of life is no exception. The emphasis on person-oriented and activity-based learning, the introduction of innovative technologies,– all this requires teachers to search for new approaches to the use of modern educational technologies, therefore, new forms and methods to improve the quality of education, the formation of new competencies among students.
The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate the feasibility of using simulations as a modern technology for teaching foreign language speaking, on the basis of which to develop and implement an effective set of exercises based on simulations for 9th grade students of a secondary school, as well as to conduct a pedagogical experiment.
Research methods: analysis of theoretical sources on the research problem, survey, observation, experiment, comparative analysis of the results obtained.
The practical significance lies in the development of an effective set of exercises based on simulations for teaching foreign language speaking to students, which can be used in English lessons.
After analyzing the results of the experiment and our research, we concluded that using simulation method is a very effective means of teaching students to speak in English lessons in high school, which proves the significant progress of students during their studies. Thus, in the experimental group there were no students with an insufficient level, only 14% of students remained at a sufficient level, while 50% were at a good level, and 36% were at an excellent level. In the control group, the results did not change in comparison with the previous ones.
Further research involves the study of the modern technologies used in teaching English speaking at the middle stage of education. Keywords:
