Abstract:
The General Arts and Science Pathway Programs (One Year Certificate and Two Year Diploma) at Sheridan College, Canada are designed to provide students with a post-secondary experience that will assist them in developing a strong academic foundation for possible degree or diploma transfer. The University profile covers core curriculum in the social sciences and humanities and also incorporates structured curriculum to develop strong critical thinking and written and oral communications skills.

The program is designed for students to enhance their social and cultural awareness within this multidisciplinary program, which provides introductory courses in a wide variety of disciplines. Students will have the opportunity to define their academic, career and personal goals while building a strong foundation for a university degree. Graduates of Sheridan’s General Arts and Science diploma program can transfer to one of our partner universities and apply transfer credits towards their degree.
In this session, the presenter will discuss the academic review process and will present the following:
1. Quality Assurance Process
2. Data from student and faculty surveys
3. Implementation plans and faculty members involvement in enhancing the program

The implementation plan presented will cover the sub-groups of faculty which worked on curriculum alignment, assessments, experiential learning and incorporating equity, diversity and inclusion concepts.
