Abstract:
Objective
This paper describes the knowledge production produced by librarians and information professionals in contributing towards scholarly communication. The main purpose of this research is to accumulate the amount of scholar communication produced by librarians and information professionals in MyAIS.

Design/methodology/approach
The unit of analysis is a document test collection consists of 448 articles published from 1982 till 2010. It also reviews the patent of interest by librarians and information professionals in information and knowledge sharing. This investigation focus on patterns of growth, knowledge accumulation, documentary scatter and knowledge production. Analysis will be based on statistical analysis, review and general classification of subject. This study will apply general bibliometric as an instrument of analysis.

Findings
The result indicates that, the amount of scholar communication produced by librarians and information professionals is not in par with other social sciences profession.

Conclusion
In Malaysia, the scenario of knowledge production among information professionals is far away behind. There are still lack of contributors that contributes to the creation of knowledge production especially in library and information sciences fields. From this research, the amount of articles being indexed in MyAIS is still low compared to others fields such as Social Science (765), Technology, Engineering (743), Philosophy, Psychology, Religion, Islam (406) and more.
