Abstract:
The paper deals with education and training in cyber and information security at the University of Defence in Brno, Czech Republic. The introduction highlights the importance of ensuring security in cyberspace that is supported by legislation. The following is a brief description of the university structure and relevant study programs. The methodology is based on content analysis of the literature sources with the goal to find the best examples of the security education and training, using effective methods and tools. Results of analysis are summarized in sections: concept or strategy; methods and tools of education and training, requirements for workers in cyber domain, and research goals in the area. The factors influencing users’ proficiency in threat detection and mitigation have been identified as business environmental, social, political, constitutional, organizational, economical, and personal. The comparative analysis is applied to particular information security course, cyber security course, preparation professionals in information security, instructing employees in the field of security and national cooperation with an assumption to implement the best practice from the content analysis. The goal is to find improvements in content and methods of education and training. An example is the system CyRIS, used for preparation a training event in cyber exercises. The conclusion summarizes the obtained results for further development of education and training of information and cyber security.
