Abstract:
Since 1999, Department of Ceramics offer ceramic students computer aided three dimensional functional ceramic design courses in Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts to improve the computer skills of students.

By means of this unique approach in ceramic design education, besides working on free hand drawings and scetches, the students experience such an education model for the first time with Unigraphics NX5 Software, contributing them to be familiar to CAD (Computer Aided Design) /CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) systems that mean the new manufacturing production process.

These systems are being used widely in the industry of ceramic production in the last century all over the world as well as in Turkey in the last century. Primarely to solve the problem of time consuming these systems must be conducted by specialist who have the perfection of whole process of designing, model forming and finishing procedures
Getting involved with computer aided design, this provide our students to become more conscious of new aspects of visual expressions by exploring different equipments for expressing the creativity and to take place in the professional CAD/CAM process in industry after graduation as candidate experts of the field.

Contributing to new education experiences and this is a unique approach in ceramic design education systems bring the university-inustry collaboration.
