Abstract:
Since computers and related technology are evolving rapidly it might be challenging to predict changes in education as a result of technology. Yet it can be seen that more and more technology is incorporated in EFL classes, as it is believed that it is beneficial in many ways. This development has promoted the use of Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) which is considered to be a very important communication tool used widely and effectively in education (Beatty & Nunan, 2004; Pfaffman, 2008). This presentation will present a study conducted in Higher Education context and examined whether the use of synchronous based Computer mediated Communication (through the use of Facebook) has resulted in helping EFL learners improve their linguistic competence in terms of grammar in English.
