Abstract:
Indigenous culture is a very valuable asset of each nation. Vietnam's indigenous cultural identity includes culture of national culture and ethnic groups (ethnicities).

In the context of international integration and revolution 4.0, the changes in culture and cultural values have a significant influence on the spiritual foundation of society, on the motivation for development of the country. How is the transformation of cultural values (both traditional and contemporary) taking place in society, especially in schools where the future human resources are developed. These changes of cultural values affect the formation of students’ competencies and qualifications to contribute for building new Vietnamese students - global citizens.

We have found that the relationship between culture and education is very important but in fact the fundamental role and motivation of culture in the development of education haven’t been sufficient for several years. So it has not created a positive change in the quality of human resources according to the requirements of the development of the country. The question is what contents of Indigenous Cultural Values are integrated into the General Education Curriculum for Schools (from primary level to high school level); what Indigenous Cultural Values are changing and how they affects students in schools; What methods/approaches have been applied to teach Indigenous Cultural Values for students in schools; Taking assessment quality for schools/educational centres, the criteria on teaching Indigenous Cultural Values for students have been paid much more attention.

The education of cultural values for students in schools is carried out in many different forms and methods:
(i) Integrate content of cultural education, cultural traditions, cultural identity, cultural values, human values of Vietnam in social science subjects such as: Literature, History, Geography, Art, Ethic Education, etc…
(ii) Organize collective activities and extra-curricular activities of schools on the occasion of major holidays such as Independence’s day, International Labour’s Day, Teachers' Day, etc...;
(iii) Taking media advocacy through posters, slogans, books, etc... in schools.

Thus, indigenous cultural values of Vietnam are integrated into the General Education Curriculum (the year 2018) for Schools to contribute to the formation and development of students’ competencies and qualifications which are specified in the general education curriculum. This paper aims to answer the three following questions:
(i) What is the indigenous culture of Vietnam?
(ii) Why is it necessary to integrate cultural values into the national Curriculum for Schools?
(iii) and How is the integration of indigenous cultural values for schools in Vietnam?

There are two main methods which are used to do in this study: (1) Survey method by questionnaire; (2) Systemic method: finding, establishing or simulating the interrelationship between the elements of the research.
Vietnamese government decides the definition of the indigenous culture of Vietnam and administers indigenous cultural values by legislation. Besides, Vietnamese law stipulates the criteria for determining indigenous cultural values.
