Abstract:
Ensuring the representation of women in STEM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Mathematics) education and careers has become not only an issue of equity and social justice but also a strategic imperative to drive innovation, economic growth and address global challenges. The representation of women in STEM fields allows for the exploration of different perspectives, experiences and approaches to problem solving. This diversity fosters creativity and innovation, leading to the development of more effective solutions to often complex problems. In the past, women have been under-represented in STEM fields, leading to significant gender gaps in these industries. By encouraging more women into STEM education and careers, we can work to close this gap and create a society that provides more equitable opportunities. This paper explores the impact of introducing a project aimed at providing gender opportunities in a technical university. The project, which focused on creating equal opportunities for the production of scientific outputs and the transfer of these solutions into practice, has produced insights that can help the implementation of gender equality principles in other technically focused universities.
