Abstract:
The Multilingualism Programme, launched at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in the 2005/2006 academic year, offers the possibility of using foreign languages as languages of instruction in the academic offer of the UPV/EHU.

So far, 597 teachers obtained accreditation to teach using English-medium instruction and 98 teachers to do it using French-medium instruction. Currently, a total of 144 courses are offered in English and other 13 in French. With the starting of new curricula according to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the trend is that the presence of English and French as languages of instruction is increasing.

In this communication I present the Linear Algebra teaching experience by using English-medium instruction in first year of the following new Degrees in Engineering: Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering and Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering, during the 2010-2011 academic year, obtaining assessment outcomes beyond expectations.
