Abstract:
E-learning has emerged as one of the effective learning approach crossing borders and languages. Translating to learner’s native language is emerged, as learner with different native language learn courses in different languages. This paper is about a tool that will help non native English learner to effectively learn a course with English as a taught medium. Pre-implementation survey show learners dependency on translator ; learner get paragraph translated and overlook understanding the meaning of each word, learner dependency on translator are not decreasing, learner repeatedly seek translation because learner is not building their vocabulary or practicing the learned vocabulary. Based on this, our idea was to build an e-learning courseware with tooltip translator that will assist the learner with auto highlighting of difficult word translated by similar level learners, auto translation as a tooltip and prompting to recollect the already learned vocabulary. This paper contribution includes pre-implementation survey, solution and post implementation survey as questionnaire, tables and graphs.
