Abstract:
Twitter is one of the social network tools which can be integrated to educational environments, and also is the second popular social networking especially among the students after Facebook. This study requires pre-service teachers to use Twitter through a competition.
The purpose of this study is to examine the views of pre-service teachers rearding the student of future. The other purpose of this study is to increase the awareness of Twitter among pre-service teachers and to have their experiences regarding Twitter use. An application was carried out taking base as a competition on Twitter. In this study, Twitter was used as a technology tool since it has been the best Tweet and the most effective Tweet regarding the student of future, because Twitter is limited to 140 characters. So a theme was given to them and they were asked to send Tweet regarding their views about “student of future”. Participants of research were from education faculty at Anadolu University in Turkey.
The research, carried out as a case study, presents the analysis of qualitative data collected from the participating pre-service teachers. Sending all their Tweets were grouped, and results were reported. Keywords:
