Abstract:
This project presents the creation of a manual of clinical cases about the main dental malocclusions which can be solved with orthodontic and/or orthopedic therapies as a tool for the motivation of students and their active participation during the learning process, as well as a continuous evaluation of their achievements.

The developed innovation does not lie so much in the tools to be implemented (since the resolution of cases on the network is already known) but in the way of presenting them (a detailed and resolved clinical case manual), as well as in the possibilities offered and the working mode. In addition, it is oriented to the needs of its educational use through an environment of shared knowledge between the teacher and the students, who can check how they are able to put into practice the concepts learned keeping them motivated in a healthy competitive spirit.

The objective of this project was the creation of an interactive tool aimed at students, which would allow them to show the practical applications of all the concepts studied and learned gradually during the development of the course. This was intended, not only the student's self-assessment, but mainly, to increase motivation in the constant study of the subject. As well as to improve the interest of students in the subject of orthodontics.

For the creation of the manual of clinical cases, seven dental malocclusions were selected, representative in the field of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, creating a repository in which the clinical records necessary for the resolution of the case were exposed step by step. With this, the student was able to put into practice a mainly theoretical subject during the degree and obtained a score for each of the resolved cases through a multiple choice test.

During the evaluation of each of the proposed solutions, it was shown that the students' scores suffered a gradual increase as more cases were solved. In addition, the levels of participation during the 4 months that the activity lasted remained in the same line. Finally, a satisfaction survey was carried out on the activity which showed a high percentage of student satisfaction.

As a conclusion, we can state that the repository of cases created gradually during the course has not only managed to implement the motivation of the students in the subject itself, but also several orthodontic student intern applications have been registered for the next course.
